Definition: A carpenter is a skilled tradesperson whose work involves the cutting, shaping and installation of building materials during the construction of buildings, ships, timber bridges, concrete forms, etc. Carpenters may also work with other materials and in the finer trades of cabinetmaking and furniture building.
